Our Vision

A young child with brown skin and brown eyes holding her hands up. Her hands have been pained with bright pink, yellow and blue paint and she has paint streaks on her face

Craftea Koala provides a creative outlet for all children, and their families,

to explore and learn but mostly to have fun together.

For our younger Koalas, we strongly believe that sensory play and creativity plays an important role in the early years development of our children. Our Mini Koala sessions are child led and we will support you to develop a connection with your child whilst they have fun and learn through play, creativity and sensory activities.

Sensory play activities naturally encourage children to use different processes whilst they create, investigate and explore the world around them. Regular sensory play helps children with cognitive development by creating stronger connections as they learn how to respond to different sensory stimuli. Sensory play can also support problem-solving, fine motor skills and language development.

Creativity is a child’s unique response to all that they experience, see, hear and feel. The way a child responds to materials and ideas inspires their creativity and imagination which in turn helps build powerful connections within the brain. Creativity is associated with focus, independence and ingenuity and children need to be given time and space to experience and explore. Koala Makers focuses on STEAM based craft projects to allow a child’s imagination to soar.

For older children and even adults, that need for creativity never stops. It is important that children have regular opportunity to engage with the arts, enabling them to explore with a wide range of media and materials. This allows them to develop understanding, self-expression, vocabulary and ability to communicate through the arts. At Craftea Koala we provide a creative outlet for older children and adults through our special themed family craft sessions, koala-tea time and parties.

“Play is the beginning of knowledge.”
